New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Tonight -- A 50 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. North northwest wind between 5 and 7 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Here are some things going on today in the Cedar Valley:
-- Story Time for 2 year olds will be 10:30 a.m. at the Waterloo Public Library.
-- The Shell Rock Swing Show will have a performance at 7 p.m. at the Boyd Community Building in Shell Rock. Tickets are $12.
-- The Cedar Falls Public Library will host a presentation at 7 p.m. called "Antinques, Anyone?" Local antiques expert Jim Jackson will give a presentation about antiques and help identify and appraise items brought in. No pre-registration necessary.
-- West High School students will hold a town hall meeting at 4:30 p.m. to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking alcohol. The event will be at AEA 267, 3712 Cedar Heights Drive, Cedar Falls. The program will include a brief video outlining the problem. Organizers will share data on underage drinking in Black Hawk County, and a representative of Mothers Against Drunk Driving will speak.
In high school sports, Linn-Mar girls will play East High in soccer at 4:15 p.m. Cedar Rapids Washington girls will play Cedar Falls in soccer at 4:15 p.m. Denver will play NU girls in soccer at 4:30 p.m. NU boys' soccer will play at Waverly-Shell Rock at 5:30 p.m.
