Good Morning Cedar Valley! It's Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008.

Today's forecast: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 20. Wind chill values as low as zero. Northwest wind between 6 and 11 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 8. Wind chill values as low as zero. West northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Today in the Cedar Valley:

-- Public ice skating at Young Arena, 125 Commercial St., will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Admission is $3 with a $3 skate rental fee.

-- Jingle and Mingle on Main will be 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Cedar Falls. It will include trolley rides, Christmas carolers and Santa.

-- The Marshall Center School at 23rd and Indiana streets on the University of Northern Iowa campus, will have a Christmas celebration from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

-- There is a youth book discussion group meeting at 7 p.m. at the Cedar Falls Public Library, 524 Main St. It is for children in grades 3 and 4.

-- Christmas with Wartburg opens today at Neumann Auditorium on the Wartburg College campus in Waverly. Shows also will be 7:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. Friday in Cedar Falls, 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Des Moines and 3 p.m. Sunday back at Neumann Auditorium. Tickets are $16.50 and available at www.wartburg.edu/christmas.

-- The Northwind Quintet will perform at 8 p.m. at Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in Cedar Falls. It features UNI faculty artists. Admission is free.
