WAVERLY - Firefighters and volunteers with the Hawkeye Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to a fire Saturday evening in Bremer County.

The incident was reported at 1342 160th St., which is north of Waverly. The Red Cross assisted one adult and one child with clothing and food.

The property included a two-story house built in 1871, which is owned by Dean Bellinger, according to the records available online from the Bremer County Assessor's Office.
