SIOUX CITY - A 6-year-old boy died today after being struck by a semitrailer on a residential Sioux City street Wednesday night, according to Mercy Medical Center- Sioux City.
Police said it appeared Jaxon Stark rode his bike into the path of a semi, which was going west on 13th Street.
The driver, Joel Kubik, 33, of Thurston, Neb., stopped after he was flagged down by a resident, pulling the rig to a halt a half a block up the hill from the alley.
Neighborhood residents said the boy was hit by the front of the semi, slipped underneath the front of the vehicle between the tired and stopped under the fuel tank of the cab.
