PARKERSBURG - Autopsy results from the State Medical Examiners' Office show Aplington-Parkersburg football coach Ed Thomas died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Thomas, 58, was shot Wednesday morning at the school's weight room by Mark Becker, 24, of Parkersburg. Becker, a former student and football player, has been charged with first-degree murder. No motive has been released in the killing.

Medical examiners ruled Thomas' death a homicide, the Iowa Department of Public Safety said. The statement didn't say what type of gun was used.
