DES MOINES (AP) - It may be difficult to find the naked truth in Iowa's indecent exposure law.
Iowa's law is being exposed after a man complained about seeing a couple having sex in a rural Johnson County park.
Johnson County Attorney Janet Lyness says the law is specific about what must be proven - and it goes beyond someone being naked. They also must prove the act was to satisfy the sexual desires of the person or the person who was watching, and that they knew the act would be offensive.
Sheriff Lonnie Pulkrabek says his office will investigate complaints but it doesn't always mean charges will be filed.
He says people have been having sex in rural places since the beginning of time and they go to remote locations because they don't expect to be found.
