CEDAR FALLS - University of Northern Iowa football coach Mark Farley confirmed Monday that running back Taylor Brookins has requested and received a release to transfer to Upper Iowa University.

But Peacocks coach Tom Shea said Brookins had not enrolled at UIU as of Monday.

A Cedar Falls High School graduate, Brookins was suspended by Farley Sept. 1 following a recent arrest for possession of marijuana in Bremer County.

Brookins was a junior at UNI.

He did not play for UNI this year.
