CEDAR FALLS - A man was airlifted to Iowa City following a Friday accident on University Avenue.
Emergency crews were dispatched to University Avenue and Holiday Road at 11:32 a.m. in response to a two-car accident.
One of the vehicles had been travelling westbound on University Avenue and turning left onto Holiday Road when it collided with a second vehicle, which was travelling eastbound on University Avenue.
A passenger in one of the vehicles was transported first to Sartori Hospital, then airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. The driver of the same vehicle was taken to Covenant Medical Center. His identity was not released.
Cedar Falls Police Capt. Mike Hayes said the extent of injuries was unknown. The accident remains under investigation.
