DE SOTO (AP) - Authorities say a child died in a mobile home fire in De Soto in central Iowa.

The Dallas County sheriff's office says the fire broke out shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard says two young children, ages 2 and 3, were involved, and one was taken to the hospital. No names or additional details have been released.

Investigators with the state fire marshal's office are on the scene.

De Soto, which has about 1,000 residents, is just west of the Des Moines area.
