Police took Austin Jacob Fleshner, of 1927 Franklin St., into custody on Aug. 20 for second-degree arson and interference after authorities say he and another boy set a car port at 1933 Franklin St. on fire. Dalton Tompkins, 11, of 1811 Franklin St., is also facing a second-degree arson charge.
On Wednesday, Fleshner faced new charges of first-degree arson, third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief for a related string of vandalisms. He also allegedly tried to start a porch on fire at 402 Dunham Place, according to police records. A neighbor reported scaring off two juveniles on bikes in the neighborhood about three hours before the Franklin Street fire. The fire broke out shortly before 6 a.m., according to police.
