CEDAR FALLS --Everything a bride needs to plan her dream wedding can be found at the annual Weddings Event on Sunday.

The bridal show takes place from noon to 4 p.m. at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, sponsored by Courier Communication.

Booths open are open from noon to 3 p.m., followed by a fashion show at 3 p.m.

From bridal fashions to lavish flowers and exotic honeymoon escapes, the event brings together a range of vendors in an elegant setting. The bride can explore her options for wedding gowns, jewelry, beauty, tuxedos, caterers, reception halls, flowers, music and disc jockey entertainment, limousines, photographers, videographers, gifts, registries, travel, real estate and more.

The grand prize is presented by Royal Prestige, a three-night Carnival Cruise for two at the event (must be present to win). Other prizes will be given away, and there will be food and cake samples.

Runway, Flower Farm & Bridal Affair and Milroy's Tuxedos will show the latest trends in wedding gowns, tuxedos and bridal party attire during the fashion show.

Tickets are $3 in advance at the Courier or online at www.wcfcourier.com/bridal. Tickets are $5 at the door.

The spring issue of Weddings magazine, Courier Communication's bridal publication, will be released to coincide with the show.

In this issue, brides will find tips for planning a budget-friendly wedding, as well as the returning traditions of "something blue" and groom's cakes, how bachelor parties gone wild can put a relationship at risk, what to know about buying a first home, reusing bridesmaids' dresses and an area reception hall directory.

Greg Brown, owner of EPIC and former Courier photographer, talks about his switch from news media photography to working as a wedding photojournalist.

The magazine will be available at the show and is distributed at locations throughout the Cedar Valley.
