WATERLOO - Waterloo police have arrested a teenager in connection with one of two robberies to a convenience store last summer.
Investigators said DNA on a bandana allegedly used to hide the identity of one of the robbers who took money from Broadway Liquor in July 2008 matched the profile of Durius Antwan Davis.
Waterloo officers arrested Davis, 17, of 1425 Franklin St., for first-degree robbery Monday. He was charged as an adult.
According to court records, a clerk told officers three men entered the business, located at 821 Broadway St., at about 10:30 a.m. July 13, 2008. One of them was armed with a knife. They demanded money and fled with the cash drawer.
A security camera taped the crime.
No other arrests have been made in the case.
First-degree robbery is a Class B felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
At the time of the holdup, Broadway Liquor store had been robbed only two weeks earlier, on June 29 at about 10:30 p.m., by three men with a handgun.
A third store robbery was also reported in that time frame, according to police reports. The King Star II convenience store at 1415 Logan Ave. was robbed July 15, 2008, and two employees were beaten. The robbers in that case were three men.
It isn't known if the robberies are connected.
