CEDAR FALLS -- Only about 3,000 tickets remain for second-ranked Northern Iowa's football showdown against Southern Illinois Oct. 13 in the UNI-Dome.

It's Homecoming for the 5-0 Panthers, who haven't played at home since Aug. 30. Southern Illinois, ranked seventh in this week's Sports Network poll, is also undefeated. Kickoff is set for 4:05 p.m.

UNI athletic director Rick Hartzell said some football tickets will be available at local retail outlets at a discounted price of $7 each until Wednesday.

"The Cedar Valley Chamber of Commerce offices have them, Craft-Cochran, First National Bank of Cedar Falls, Hy-Vee at College Square, Iowa Sports Supply, Liberty Bank, both Scheels locations, University Book and Supply and Wal-Mart," said Hartzell.

"We want to be sure that people know if they're interested in getting tickets there are about 3,000 available. We expect that number to dwindle pretty quickly, and if folks want them they ought to get after them pretty quickly."

UNI hasn't played in front of a UNI-Dome sellout since a 1995 contest against Idaho. The largest crowd since then was 15,536 for a 2005 clash with Southern Illinois.
