HOLLAND - A Holland woman died Friday morning in a one-car accident near town.

Linda Getting, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Grundy County Sheriff's Department. The accident occurred on County Road T-37 at 7:55 a.m.

Police said Getting was southbound on T-37 1 1/2 miles southeast of Holland when her 1994 Pontiac Bonneville dropped off on the left side shoulder. In an attempt to bring the vehicle back under control, it then dropped off the right shoulder and entered the ditch. The car struck a security fence, rolled over and landed on its top.

The accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Department. Assisting at the scene were the Grundy Center Police, Grundy Center Ambulance and Holland Fire Department.
