WATERLOO - A cigarette and a slice of pizza helped close a burglary case for investigators, police said.
Officers were sent to a break-in at 2401 Falls Ave., which houses Rudy's Tacos and a number of other businesses, on May 27.
The intruder had fled, but inside police found a cigarette butt in the Lava Lounge bar and a partially eaten slice of pizza.
DNA from saliva on the items was tested and found to match a Postville teen, according to court records.
On Thursday, police arrested Darryel Eugene Schwarz Jr., 18, for third-degree burglary in the case.
