Good Day Cedar Valley! It's Thursday, Nov. 29, and still no snow on the ground. But there's talk of snow coming this weekend.

As the work week winds down and your thoughts turn toward the big UNI game Saturday, here's a quote to keep you going today:

The forecast today calls for a high near 33; wind chill values as low as 5. West northwest wind 7 to 9 mph becoming south southwest. Tonight, there is a 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 14. East wind between 4 and 7 mph becoming calm.

SIGNAL SHUTDOWN: The city of Waterloo says that weather permitting, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. today and Friday, the traffic signals at the intersection of Highway 63 (Sergeant Road) and Fletcher Avenue will be intermittently shut down to rebuild the service.

Here's what else is going on today in the Cedar Valley:

-Bundle up the kids and head to Main Street in downtown Cedar Falls for Jingle and Mingle on Main from 5-8 p.m. Santa will be there and trolley rides start at 5:30 p.m. For more details, go to http://www.communitymainstreet.org/

- From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., New Life Christian Ministries will have a community-wide clothing giveaway at 1427 Jefferson St., Waterloo. Everything is free. Some of the clothing is new, and there will be general household goods available. For more information, contact Barbara Vanarsdale at 233-3116.

- In Waterloo, city councilman-elect Quentin Hart is hosting a public input meeting from 6-8 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 207 W. Louise St. He wants to hear about the needs in the city's 4th Ward.

- The talented Wartburg College wrestling squad will have a meet at 7 p.m. against Loras College at the new Levick Arena on the Wartburg campus. For more details on the team, go to http://www.go-knights.net/wrestling/

- As part of its Holocaust Remembrance and Education Program, UNI will present the film "Uprising" at 6 p.m. at the Hearst Center for the Arts, 304 W. Seerley Blvd., Cedar Falls. It is the first American film to dramatize the Warsaw Ghetto uprising of 1943, in which an underground resistance movement of Polish Jews held off the German army for 42 days. The showing is free. - Also at UNI, the UNI Young People's Dance Theatre will hold its annual fall dance festival from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Wellness/Recreation Center, Gym 84, on the UNI campus next to the UNI-Dome. YPDT is a before- and after-school dance program for second- through fifth-grade boys and girls. The UNI International Dance Theatre will open the evening with a guest performance.

- Vertigo A-GoGo: A Night of Performance Art will be 6-9 p.m. in the Kamerick Art Building on the UNI campus. It will include performances by the UNI performance art students. The building is located at the corner of Hudson Road and West 27th Street.

- State Rep. Bob Kressig of Cedar Falls will host a public forum at the University of Northern Iowa At 7 p.m. in the Great Reading Room of Seerley Hall. Iowa Board of Regents Pro-Tem David Miles and other local legislators will also be in attendance to listen and answer questions.

- And finally, the UNI Faculty Chamber Works will have a concert at 8 p.m. at Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.
