WATERLOO - Police are investigating a Thursday morning shooting near the downtown area.
Neighbors near East First and Mulberry streets reported hearing gunfire at about 11:30 a.m.
Officers who answered the call discovered a .38-caliber revolver in the tall grass behind 321 E. First St., said Capt. Tim Pillack with the Waterloo Police Department.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.
It was the second report of gunfire in as many days.
On Wednesday afternoon, residents in the 200 block of Sumner Street reported hearing 10 to 12 shots from occupants of two vehicles shooting at each other.
Two bullets struck the siding of 203 Sumner St., according to the police report.
