NEW HAMPTON - A Fredericksburg man was injured in a one-vehicle crash south of Lawler.

Just after midnight Friday, Chickasaw County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames at Union Avenue and 240th Street.

The driver of the mini van, Eric McLaughlin, 28, had driven off the road. He was taken by New Hampton Ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton for injuries sustained in the wreck. He later was transferred to a hospital in Rochester, Minn. His condition is not known.

Other recent crahes in Chickasaw County have led authorities to warn motorists about the danger of dusty gravel roads. Dust clouds contributed to two other accidents in the county.

At 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Adam Rosenbaum, 24, of Waucoma was struck from behind by a liquid manure spreader being pulled by William Elliot, 67, of Fredericksburg. The crash occurred at Vanderbilt Avenue and 290th Street in rural Fredericksburg. No one was injured. The Ford appears to be a total loss. The spreader sustained major structural damage. The wreck remains under investigation.

Also on Thursday afternoon, three people were injured after a crash. Daniel Leichtman, 35, collided with Caitlin Lehman after pulling out of a residential driveway on the 2200 block of Kenwood Avenue in rural New Hampton.

Lehman was taken by New Hampton Ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton. Leichtman and a passenger were taken to Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton, by private vehicle. Their conditions are not known. Leichtman was cited for failing to yield.
