Waterloo man arrested on arson charge

>WATERLOO - A Waterloo man wanted in connnection with a January arson was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly running a red light downtown.

Isaac Peter Jackson, 23, of 621 Ricker St., was arrested on a warrant naming a charge of first-degree arson in connection with a Jan. 28 fire at 828 Randolph St.

No one was injured when three men lobbed alcohol bottles filled with flammable liquid from at the apartment building Jan. 28, according to police. A neighbor was able to extinguish the flames with a garden hose. A stolen car witnesses say the men used in the attack was later found abandoned a few blocks away from the scene.

Jackson was stopped at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at West Fourth and Jefferson streets. He also faces simple misdemeanor charges of harassment of a public official, driving while suspended and failure to appear in court on a traffic charge.

He is being held at the Black Hawk County jail on $100,800 bond.
