EVANSDALE - A Evansdale man has been arrested in connection with a 2005 traffic accident that claimed the life of his passenger.
Black Hawk County sheriff's deputies arrested Matthew Charles Drewelow, 28, of 520 Grand Blvd., Monday night at the jail on a warrant for homicide by vehicle.
Drewelow posted $25,000 bond and was released from jail.
Court records allege Drewelow was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs Sept. 17, 2005, and caused the death of Adam John Fish on Interstate 380 near the McCoy Road overpass.
Homicide by vehicle is a class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
Fish, 21, of Evansdale, died from injuries after he was ejected from Drewelow's Chevrolet Camaro, and Drewelow was also injured in the single-vehicle accident.
The Iowa State Patrol investigated the accident, and prosecutors with the Black Hawk County Attorney's Office filed charges against Drewelow Friday.
