STRAWBERRY POINT - An Arlington man is dead following a one-vehicle rollover accident in Clayton County Sunday morning

Sheriff's officials said Richard Deshaw, 23, of Arlington, was pronounced dead at the scene after his car went off the road on Iowa Highway 3 south of Strawberry Point at about 6:44 a.m. Sunday. A passenger, Marjorie Kloserman, 19, of Strawberry Point was transported to Manchester Hospital and airlifted to University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Sheriff's officials said Deshaw's westbound car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center line, left the roadway, entered a ditch, vaulted over a culvert and rolled, coming to rest in the ditch on its roof. Both Deshaw and Kloserman were ejected from the car.

The Clayton County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the accident. Assisting were the Iowa State Patrol, Deleware County Sheriff, and Strawberry point fire and emergency medical crews.
