It's cold out there this morning. Today's forecast calls for snow likely with patchy blowing snow, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 5 by 5 p.m. Wind chill values as low as -15. Windy, with a southwest wind 8 to 11 mph becoming northwest between 19 and 22 mph. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight, patchy blowing snow and scattered flurries before midnight, then areas of blowing snow after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -9. Wind chill values as low as -25. Blustery, with a northwest wind between 14 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 10 percent.

-- Half-Masted 3.2, a comedy troupe, will present a one-hour performance at 6:30 p.m. at the Cedar Falls Public Library. They are free, family friendly and funny.

-- In high school sports, Waterloo West and Cedar Falls will clash in boys' and girls basketball. The West girls will play at Cedar Falls starting at about 7:30 p.m. The Cedar Falls boys will play at West starting at about 7:30 p.m. Dubuque Wahlert girls' basketball will play at Waterloo East at about 7:30 p.m. Anamosa girls' basketball will play at Columbus at about 7:30 p.m. Jesup girls and boys will play at Northern University High School at 6:30 p.m. Tripoli boys and girls will play at Walnut Ridge at 5 p.m.

-- There will be a public dance tonight at Electric Park Ballroom with DJ Faythe Kubik. The dance starts at 8 p.m. and ends at midnight. Admission is $8.
