CHARLES CITY - A federal grand jury has indicted the boyfriend of Evelyn Miller's mother on drug charges.

Casey Frederiksen, who was one of the last people to see 5-year-old Evelyn alive before she disappeared in July 2005, is currently serving a 14-year sentence for child pornography charges.

On Wednesday, a grand jury handed up an indictment charging Frederiksen with one count of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, according to records unsealed Friday in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids.

The indictment alleges Frederiksen conspired with others to make a mixture containing meth between 2004 and June 2005. No other details were released.

Authorities said Frederiksen had been looking after Evelyn in July 2005 when the girl disappeared. She was later found dead.

The specifics behind her death were never made public, and no one has been arrested for her death.

During the investigation, police seized Frederiksen's home computer and discovered more than 600 visual depictions of minors engaged in sexual acts.

The images were apparently downloaded between July 2003 and July 2005.

Frederiksen is currently housed at the United States Penitentiary in Marion, Ill., according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. The facility is security prison housing male inmates. It has an adjacent prison camp that houses minimum security male offenders.
