STRAWBERRY POINT - A 1-year-old and a Lamont woman were injured in a car-van crash in Clayton County about noon Friday.

Erica Wayne, 24, and Hanna Hettinger, 1, both of Lamont, were taken to Manchester Hospital after the crash. The Iowa State Patrol report did not state if they were related, but they were in the same vehicle.

The accident occurred at the intersection of April Avenue and 110 Street in Clayton County.

The report states that the van driven by Wayne collided with a car driven by Michael S. Pierce, 24, of Colfax. Pierce was stopped at a stop sign on April Avenue when he drove into the path of the Wayne's van, which was eastbound on 110th Street, the report states. The van came to rest in the roadway, while Pierce's vehicle ended up in the north ditch.

Pierce was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
