WATERLOO - A new glossy magazine, Cedar Valley Image, has joined Courier Communication's stable of specialty publications.

Published monthly, the free premiere lifestyles magazine debuts Saturday.

"We're excited about this new publication that spotlights the good life and terrific people of the Cedar Valley. Cedar Valley Image combines all the elements of a city magazine with special focus on our region," said publisher Nancy Green.

Filled with local features that reflect the area's quality of life and interests, content will connect with readers through such topics as health, food, shopping, home interiors and gardening, and trendsetting ideas for style, entertaining, travel and more.

Readers can pick up copies of Cedar Valley Image from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Logan Avenue, University Avenue and Crossroads Hy-Vee stores in Waterloo, Waterloo's Fareway store, Purse n Ality and the YMCA, as well as at Waverly Hy-Vee and Fareway stores.

The November issue features such stories as No-Fuss Holiday Entertaining, a Q&A and recipes from "Trim 'n Terrific" cookbook author Holly Clegg, treating ulcers, dealing with fussy eaters, and a holiday retreat to Kansas. There are also monthly features, including Bookends and Style File. Readers will recognize the names of Courier editors and staff writers and there will be some new talent, too.

"There is no other lifestyles publication like this in the Cedar Valley - the quality is high, and it serves as a benefit to our readers and advertisers. It's eye-catching, too. Advertisers can target the audience they want to reach and readers will notice their ads," said Angela Dark, Courier Communications marketing director.

New issues will be distributed free each month at key locations throughout the metro area; Cedar Valley Image will not be included in Courier subscriptions.
