CEDAR FALLS - Cedar Falls police said Monday afternoon that the two Cedar Falls officers involved in the altercation at The Main Event early Sunday have suffered broken bones while making arrests.
The two officers were not named, but earlier reports were that one suffered an arm injury and the other a leg injury.
The officers have been referred to orthopedic surgeons by their primary-treating physicians, police said.
Police arrested two current and one former UNI football player on charges of rioting, disorderly conduct and interference with official acts in connection with the incident.
Police were called to the event center at 4807 University Ave., Cedar Falls, shortly before 2 a.m. on a report of a disturbance. The three arrested, Brandon L. Keith, 24, Adam Roberts, 21, and Darrell L. Lloyd, 22, all of Cedar Falls, were accused of not complying with police orders to leave.
Keith, whose eligibility has has been used up, was Tasered by police after he allegedly charged at officers inside the business. The other two, who are starting defensive backs, were arrested in the parking lot.
Efforts to reach the players is ongoing.
