WATERLOO - The Walnut Ridge Regents had to rely on a little speed to salvage a split with the Dunkerton Raiders Tuesday night.
Junior guard David Speed launched a three-pointer from three feet beyond the arc, to put the Regents up 59-56 late in the game, then held on for a 66-58 victory.
The girls, however, fell short in the opener dropping a 47-23 decision to the Raiders.
