2 taken into custody for C.F. vandalism spree

CEDAR FALLS - Cedar Falls police announced Tuesday they have arrested a male and female in the May vandalism spree to numerous vehicles.

Police arrested Amber Ashley Wolf, 20, of 408 Franklin St., and Jordan Sanjay Leyh, 17, of 711 Lilac Lane, for one count each of first-degree criminal mischief, a Class C felony, for causing more than $10,000 damage to vehicles on May 22, and one count each of second-degree criminal mischief, a Class D felony, for causing more than $1,000 damage on May 23.

On those dates, police responded to a total of 60 vehicle and one residential vandalism. In each incident, windows were shot out using a pellet/BB gun.

Wolf also was charged in another incident where she pointed and shot a pellet/BB gun at a motorist near University Avenue and Cedar Heights Drive on May 22, causing around $1,800 damage to the vehicle. She was charged with second-degree criminal mischief in that case.

Leyh, who was taken into custody Monday, was released to his parents. Wolf, who was arrested early Tuesday, was taken to the Black Hawk County Jail for processing.
