DES MOINES (AP) - A Tennessee man has pleaded guilty to illegally hunting deer in Iowa.
Officials with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources say Theodore Davis of Clinton, Tenn., pleaded guilty to six counts and was ordered to pay $5,000 to an anti-poaching group and $15,000 in liquidated damages.
Davis also lost his hunting privileges for three years in Iowa and 25 other states, including Tennessee.
Authorities say Davis illegally claimed he was a resident of Iowa using the address of a couple who live in Mondamin (Mahn-DAY'-min) Iowa. Officials say the couple obtained deer licenses for Davis.
One of those people, Roberta Anderson, was cited for providing deer licenses to a nonresident and fined $182.
