CHARLES CITY - A Charles City teen was arrested on arson charges Thursday night after he lit a wall hanging on fire in his apartment.

The blaze, started by Gadge Lantz, 19, set off fire alarms at Cedar Crest Apartments, 910 13th St. The local fire department was summoned, but the blaze was extinguished by the time authorities arrived on the scene.

No one in the complex was injured. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the incident.
