WATERLOO - Participating in his second professional tournament, Andy Winings, 22, earned his first victory Sunday and pocketed $45,000 with a one-shot victory over Steve Runge and Maskel at the 76th annual Waterloo Open.

Meanwhile, Kyle Bermel, a senior-to-be on the University of Northern Iowa golf team, won the amateur division with a 9-under-par 207. Western Illinois senior-to-be Jake Weeber and Iowa State junior-to-be and Waterloo native Nathan Leary tied for second at 4-under-part 212.

Winings, who finished fourth at the Indiana State Open in his pro debut, registered a pair of 65s at Irv Warren Memorial Golf course to finish at 14-under for the 36-hole event. He didn't make a bogey Sunday and birdied all five par-5s.
