OSAGE -- A Minnesota man is facing numerous charges after allegedly stealing a combine in Mitchell County and running it through yards, into vehicles and a building Sunday.
Dominic Andrew Bjerke, 21, of Leroy, Minn., has been charged with first offense operating while intoxicated, third-degree burglary, third-degree theft and criminal mischief as a Class C felony.
He is being held in the Mitchell County Jail ona $26,000 bond.
According to the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to 4595 Windfall Avenue, south of the town of McIntire, about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, on a complaint that a combine had driven through several yards, striking numerous vehicles and a garage.
The combine drove away and later came to a stop down the road, deputies said. The driver was identified as Bjerke.
The combine was later reported stolen from the Ernest Schofield residence at 4675 Windfall Ave., and was considered a total loss.
The combine caused damage to 4583 Walnut Ave. (the Robert Starry residence), 4590 Walnut Ave. (Terry and Deb Tetzner residence) and 4595 Walnut Ave. (Marty Miller residence).
Several street signs and a bridge were also damaged.
