CEDAR FALLS - A University of Northern Iowa School of Music graduate will appear on the television show "America's Got Talent" tonight.
John Hagen, an opera singer who studied with UNI voice professor Leslie Morgan, will appear on the two-hour show which begins at 8 p.m. on NBC.
Hagen appears on the show as part of a trio of performers known as "The Texas Tenors." He maintains residences in Waterloo and New York, according to a 2005 biography on him available throught the Dallas, Texas, artist management and art consulting firm of Mary Ella Collins and Associates. He and UNI professor Morgan, a soprano, performed at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in 2004, according to that biography.

The reality show talent competition, created by Simon Cowell of American Idol fame, features everyone from jugglers and magicians to trained singers and dancers. Judges are Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and David Hasselhoff.
The winner takes home a $1 million prize.
The second season winner, Terry Fator, went on to sign a $100 million deal to headline a show at the Mirage casino and hotel in Las Vegas.
