MANLY - A Mason City motorcyclist died after striking a deer on Highway 65 Saturday night.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Robert Lee Ezarski, 74, Mason City, was southbound on Highway 65 south of Manly at approximately 8:40 p.m. Saturday when a passenger car traveling in front of him hit a deer.

Ezarski was unable to avoid hitting the deer.

He was taken to Mercy Medical Center- North Iowa. A hospital spokesperson said Sunday that Ezarski had died.
