WATERLOO - Waterloo Leisure Services is now accepting registration for summer activities.
Season pool passes offered include individual, $42; family (total of five members), $95; toddler, $10; senior, $10; or a 10-punch pass for $25. A season pass allows unlimited use of both Byrnes and Gates pools during public swimming and lap swim during. Passes may be purchased only at the Leisure Services Office, 1101 Campbell Ave., from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
Swimming lessons will be offered in two week sessions, 40 minutes each, with week one running from Monday through Friday and week two from Monday through Thursday. On Saturday of the final week of the program, participants may enjoy a Fun Day from 10 to 11:30 a.m., where a parent and child can enjoy an open swim session.
The A Ball program is designed for all interested players in the eligible grade. Youth will receive six weeks of instruction in baseball and softball fundamentals and participate in team practices and recreational games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The program runs from June 10 through July 17. The $30 fee includes team T-shirt and cap.
The Summer Basketball League, sponsored by the Mayor's YES+ Initiative, is for youth in fourth through eighth grades. The program will include basic fundamental instruction through team practices and league play with an emphasis on sportsmanship. Program runs June 9 through July 31 with boys meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays and girls meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games and practice will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at either Lincoln or Cunningham schools. The fee is $10 and includes team T-shirt.
