WATERLOO - Showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to lift across central Iowa this morning. Periods of moderate to heavy downpours will occur.
One-quarter inch of rain is possible in some of the heavier downpours over the next several hours. The showers and thunderstorms are moving north at 35 mph.
Widespread showers and isolated non-severe thunderstorms will continue throughout the day. The isolated thunderstorms may linger east of Interstate 35 until 10 p.m.
Locally heavy rainfall is possible as well. Total rainfall amounts, including Monday night's precipitation, may reach 3 inches in a few locations.
For Wednesday through Monday: Isolated thunderstorms are possible Sunday.
