DES MOINES (AP) - The Iowa State Fair is clarifying its concept of a butter sculpture of Michael Jackson.

Fair officials had announced a tribute to the late pop icon with a sculpture of him carved out of butter. They now say the sculpture will be a side portion of a larger sculpture commemorating the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's moonwalk.

The sculpture will include an astronaut, an American flag and buttery carving of the moon.

Fair officials say the Jackson part of the sculpture will feature him as the first pop star to popularize his moonwalk choreography. Officials say they are not honoring Jackson for his character but recognizing his place in fair history.

Fair organizers say Jackson performed with the Jackson Five at the Iowa State Fair in 1971.
