In the evening, keynote speaker Rosezine Wallace, a Des Moines minister, will give a talk. A dance team from Celebration First Assembly of God Church in Waterloo and the Unity choir from Union Missionary Baptist Church in Waterloo will also perform. And Ellaysa Newton of Gift of Life Church will do pantomime.

Rev. Dr. Mary Robinson of All Nations Community Church in Cedar Falls is also scheduled to speak.

Evangelist Estella Jenkins of Union Missionary Baptist Church organized the women's conference, in its second year.

"Prayer works," Jenkins said. "Prayer has power to it."

"The women need to know to get through life, to raise the family, they need to have a prayer life," Jenkins added.

Today's events at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center are free. Although the conference theme focuses on women, all are invited to attend, Jenkins said.
