WATERLOO - Presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., will hold campaign appearances in Waterloo and Waverly Saturday.
Dodd will conduct a town meeting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Steamboat Gardens restaurant, 1740 Falls Ave., at Falls and Fletcher avenues, and a "kitchen table" discussion with the Knitting Ladies of Waverly at noon at the home of Wendy Kepford, 322 Second Ave., Waverly.
Dodd previously appered in the Cedar Valley in October, campaigning for U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley.
Dodd recently introduced an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill continuing funding for the war in Iraq, which his staff said would "improve accountability, provide a timetable for the Iraqi government to get its house in order and safely and responsibly redeploy American troops with a firm deadline tied to Congressional funding."
At the Waterloo and Waverly apperances Dodd also will discuss his plan to transform energy policy and fight global warming, including a corporate carbon tax that would fund fast-track research into alternative energy sources.
Dodd also will make various campaign stops in Mason City and Sioux City Saturday and Sunday.
