WATERLOO -- The My Waterloo Days Executive Committee announced the following national entertainers for the 25th anniversary of My Waterloo Days festival: Mr. Food live cooking presentation at People in the Park, on May 31; Quiet Riot as headliner at Blowout at Byrnes on June 2; and Superchick as headliner of the Christian Concert on June 3.

"With the anniversary of My Waterloo Days and the 'Totally '80s' theme, the focus for Saturday night entertainment this year was to find an act that was recognizable fitting the '80s genre," said Kelly Engelken, director of My Waterloo Days.

Quiet Riot became an overnight sensation after the release of their album "Metal Health" in 1983. They were described as the first heavy metal band to top the pop charts with hits like "Bang Your Head," "Come on Feel the Noise" and "Slick Black Cadillac." In 1984 Quiet Riot released "Critical Condition." The album pounded out tunes like "Mama We're All Crazy Now" and "Party All Night."

Superchick, a Chicago-based band Christian band, started as an all-girl band that grew into a six-person group. "Stand in the Rain," "We Live" and "Pure" are hits from their newest album "Beauty from Pain."

On May 31 at People in the Park, visitors of the festival will be able to meet Mr. Food. Mr. Food will do his cooking demonstration live from the stage during the noon broadcast of KWWL. An autograph session will follow the demonstration.

Admission to see Quiet Riot and Superchick at the 2007 My Waterloo Days festival will require purchase of a My Waterloo Days button. My Waterloo Days buttons will be available for $5 in advance or $8 at the gate. An

announcement of button purchase locations and dates is forthcoming. For more information please visit www.MyWaterlooDays.org
