CLEAR LAKE - Country music superstar Clint Black will perform Oct. 2 at the Surf Ballroom.
Known as one of the artists to kick-start the mass popularity of country music in the 1990s, Black has become a country legend.
His debut album, "Killin' Time," was his first triple platinum record. Released in 1989, it sold more than 2 million copies in America alone by the end of 1990. He has written, recorded and released more than 100 songs. One-third of his songs eligible for single release reached hit song status on country radio.
Black has had nearly two dozen No. 1 hits, including "A Better Man," "Summer's Comin" and "When I Said I Do," and two No. 1 albums.
He also has been given numerous honors throughout the years, including the County Music Association's Horizon Award, the Academy of County Music's Best Male Vocalist and Album of the Year.
Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Surf Ballroom box office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
