Waterloo woman dies in Oklahoma crash

MADILL, Okla. - Services for a Waterloo woman killed in an Aug. 14 traffic accident in Oklahoma will be Thursday.

Mary E. Boyer, 70, was traveling with her son, Allen Boyer, 37, of Kingston, near Madill in southern Oklahoma when their Dodge Durango was struck by a pickup truck at about 4:15 p.m.

Mary Boyer, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at Integris Medical Center, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Her son, who was driving and wore a seat belt, was treated and released.

People in the pickup, driver Christopher Bailey, 37, and passenger Lateresa Pitts, 37, both of Kingston, Okla., declined treatment. Both were wearing seat belts.

According to the accident report, the Boyer's vehicle headed north on Highway 70A when Bailey's pickup failed to stop at a stop sign. The pickup struck the passenger side of the Boyer's SUV.

Mary Boyer was pinned in the vehicle for about 30 minutes, the report states.

Services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home in Waterloo.
