Jeffrey L. Thomas, 44, of 3122 Roosevelt St., Alburnett, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Central City, by Father Wayne Droessler. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

His wife, Becky; two sons, Dalton and Trenton; mother, Marilyn of Bonaparte; brother, Danny of Bentonsport; in-laws, James and Peg Baldwin of Oelwein; and many aunts, uncles and cousins survive Jeff.

His father, Donald W. Thomas, and his maternal and paternal grandparents precede Jeff in death.

Jeff was born Oct.10, 1963, in Keosauqua, the son of Donald and Marilyn Elliott Thomas. He married Becky Baldwin on Nov. 3, 1990, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. Jeff worked as a power lineman at Alliant Energy for 15 years.

Jeff enjoyed walleye fishing, hunting, raising animals, volunteering and coaching his sons' many activities.
