ALLISON - Gertrude Henrietta Wessels, 89, of Allison, died Saturday, Sept. 27, at Allison Health Care Center of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Butler County, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Assink Rottink. On April 3, 1941, she married Rudy Wessels in the parsonage in Kesley. He preceded her in death April 15, 2002.

Mrs. Wessels farmed with her husband near Shell Rock and then near Allison.

Survived by: a daughter, Carolyn (Jack) Cooper of Allison; a son, Gerald (Karen) of Allison; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stout Gospel Hall, Stout, with burial in Allison Cemetery, Allison. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
