WAVERLY - William Dennis "Denny" Parkman, 50, of Waverly, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 14, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 12, 1957, in Port Sulphur, La., son of Tommy and Vera Mae Cobb Parkman. On March 2, 1992, he married Connie Ohlendorf Davidson in Patterson, La.
Mr. Parkman received his GED from Hawkeye Institute of Technology, Waterloo and was a self-employed over-the-road truck driver, retiring Aug. 29, 2008.
Survived by: his wife; three daughters, Lindsey Parkman (Brandon Soldwisch) of Waverly, Crystal (Andrew) Grey of Ventura, Calif., and Ashley (Jeremy) Baker of Springfield, Mo.; a son, Curtis Flege of Waverly; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Leonard of Houma, La., and Kristal Hebert of Morgan City, La.
Preceded in death by: a brother, Freddie Gulley; a sister, Bonnie Parkman; and a brother-in-law, Edward Leonard.
No services or visitation are planned; his body was cremated. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is assisting the family
Memorials: may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice, Waverly office.
