DUMONT - Henry "Jack" Miller, 74, of Dumont, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.
He was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Butler County, son of Henry J. and Hermina Bohlen Miller. He married Norma Jean Schermer on May 29, 1959, in Ackley.
He graduated from Aplington High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Miller was employed as a line foreman for Cornbelt Power throughout his career, retiring in 1991.
Survived by: his wife; a son, Lance Trae (Cheryl Kay) of Johnston; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ervin (Adelyn) and Donald (Lucy), both of Aplington; and a sister, Irene Card of Ackley.
Preceded in death by: a brother, Henry; a sister, Jane Muller; and two brothers-in-law, Balis Card and Orville Muller.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bethel Lutheran Church, Parkersburg, with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, Aplington. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel, Aplington, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
