WATERLOO - Stanley Koch, 80, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.
He was born March 18, 1927, in Waterloo, son of John W. and Rose Elizabeth Baumgartner Koch. He married Elizabeth Robert on June 22, 1957, in Waterloo. She died April 26, 1991.
Mr. Koch was a 1945 graduate of St. Mary's High School; attended Loras College, Dubuque, and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in accounting. He was part owner of John W. Koch & Sons Plumbing and Heating for 40 years.
Survivors include: two sons, Richard of Waterloo and Dave (Ann) of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; two daughters, Karen (Tom) Simmons of Longmont, Colo., and Liz (Geoff) Miller of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Linda Koch and Brandon Cathers, both of Bloomington, Minn., Nicole and Shannan Koch, both of Hastings, Minn., Tommy Simmons Jr. of Longmont, and Matthew, Emilee and Joshua Miller, all of Waterloo; two great-grandchildren, Cody Koch and Orlando Harris, both of Hastings; a brother, Paul (Delores) of Waterloo; a brother-in-law, Leo Beierschmit of Fairbank; and a sister-in-law, Mary Beth Koch of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: two brothers, Robert and Kenneth; a sister, Barbara Beierschmit; and a sister-in-law, Eileen Koch.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. Catholic Order of Foresters rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.
