JESUP - Betty Lou Irish, 76, of Jesup, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Nov. 5, at West Village Care Center, Independence, following a long illness.
She was born Nov. 29, 1932, in Clarksville, daughter of Ruben Lore and Elsie Corderman Lore. She married Bob Delmar Irish on Oct. 21, 1956. He died Aug. 12, 1995.
Mrs. Irish graduated from Clarksville High School. Before retiring, she worked several years in the housekeeping department at Friendship Village, Waterloo. She was a member of Sprit of Faith Family Church, Cedar Rapids.
Survived by: a daughter, Linda (Larry) Dixon of Jesup; a son, Bobby (Nancy) of Noel, Mo.; four grandchildren; and four sisters, Maxine (Jim) Norton of Clarksville, Irene (Jack) Fisher and Pearl Fisher, both of Des Moines, and Viola Kearby of Ankeny.
Preceded in death by: a daughter, Mary Irish; a granddaughter; and two brothers, Floyd and Evan Lore,
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Spirit of Faith Family Church, Cedar Rapids, with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Lyn-Wood Cemetery, Clarksville. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and after 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
