CEDAR FALLS -- A bride doesn't ask much on her wedding day.
Only the fulfillment of her every heart's desire.
"Weddings: An Event to Remember" will help the bride find everything she needs to make her romantic dream a reality.
The bridal show takes place from noon to 4 p.m. next Sunday at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, sponsored by Courier Communications and GBPAC.
From bridal fashions to lavish flowers and exotic honeymoon escapes, the event brings together a range of vendors an elegant setting. The bride can explore her options for wedding gowns, jewelry, beauty, tuxedos, caterers, reception halls, flowers, music and disc jockey entertainment, limousines, photographers, videographers, gifts, registries, travel, real estate and more.
AAA Travel, Royal Prestige, Re/Max Cedar Valley and Mary Kay will present informal seminars throughout the afternoon.
An extravagant fashion show begins at 3 p.m. in the Great Hall. The show will feature wedding gowns, tuxedos, mothers' dresses, bridesmaids' gowns and other attire. Styles are being provided by Hope's Bridal, Milroy's Tuxedos and A Bridal Affair.
There will be games, food, fun and prizes.
The grand prizes are a cruise from Royal Prestige and a $500 dress gift certificate from Hope's Bridal.
Tickets are $3 in advance online at www.wcfcourier.com/bridal and $5 at the door.
For more information, call 291-1524 or e-mail alaina.flater@wcfcourier.com.
The fall issue of Weddings, Courier Communications' bridal publication, will be released to coincide with the bridal show.
In this issue, brides will find tips for planning "a reception to remember," including trends, an area reception hall directory, hiring a caterer, whether or not to serve alcohol, toasting etiquette and making the first dance special for the bride and groom.
Several couples share their "real wedding" experiences, and other trends, including green weddings and "trash-the-dress" photography, are explored. Wedding gowns and the hottest colors in men's tuxedo vests for fall are among fashion features. Brides and their friends can have fun with the "Are You A Bridezilla?" quiz.
The magazine will be available at the show and is distributed at locations throughout the Cedar Valley.
