Q. When will Mediacom be adding more high definition programs to the High Definition package I've subscribed to?

A. Phyllis Peters, spokeswoman for Mediacom, responds: "Mediacom recently began offering a new package of high-definition (HD) channels called HD Family Basic, designed to make many of the most popular cable channels more accessible and affordable to view in high-definition. Last month we moved ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD and HD Theater out of the high-def package and into a family package where there are no additional costs for customers equipped to receive HD signals. This month Mediacom is adding TNT HD and a regional sports channel to HD Family Basic. Additional HD channels will be added regularly throughout the year. High-def broadcasts from all local TV stations and Iowa Public Television can be viewed on Mediacom. As some popular channels recently moved out of the tier, the price of Mediacom's HD Pack was reduced from $9.95 to $6.95. Another component of high-definition content is the On Demand movie selection that is now available and will continually expand in response to consumer

preferences for more HD programming."

Q. In the Jan. 7 Call the Courier there was an answer about homeowners in Evansdale receiving grant money or low interest money for home repairs and how Theresa Wheeler said to contact Iowa Northland Regional Council of Government on Sycamore. People have called there and they don't have any funding. Who should people in Evansdale call about grant money?

A. Evansdale City Clerk Theresa Wheeler said neither the city nor INRCOG has grant money available at this time. The confusion occurred because INRCOG has had emergency funding available for qualified individuals in the past, she said, but not at this time.

Q. When will the U.S. flag be replaced at the Evansdale Post Office? It was originally taken down for remodeling.

A. Craig Goetsch, retail manager at the Waterloo Post Office, which oversees the Evansdale branch, said the flag will be replaced. However, the Post Office is waiting until building repairs are made so the flag can be permanently affixed. The Post Office rents the space in Evans Crossing Mall, Evansdale's only mall that's undergoing a massive renovation project.

Q: What happened to the program "Lincoln Heights"?

A: The ABC Family show has completed its second season. It doesn't look as if the network has made an announcement on the future of the show yet.
